Howlong Public School continues to lead the way with our exciting ‘Seedlings' transition to school program. Activities have begun already with our future students joining us last week for a lunch order day and again this week for some gymnastics fun.
An effective transition program ensures our students and their families have a smooth transition to school and it was great to catch up with many of them last week at the parent information evening held at the Pre School.
Parents are often anxious when deciding if their child will be ready for school or not and it needs to be remembered that there is no ‘entry level' for students to start Kindergarten.
By attending the transition activities, parents can gain a better understanding of school readiness and the discussions had with our staff in collaboration with the Pre School staff, should also guide decisions and alleviate any concerns.
